DOES MY WATER HEATER NEED MAINTENANCE?

The answer to this question is definitely yes.

All water heaters need proper maintenance; they may need servicing once every year, and a better-grade unit once every two years, depending on the water's usage and hardness (mineral content).

HOW IS A WATER HEATER SERVICED

  • We thoroughly inspect all components

  • Know the age, check the date code

  • Test for proper start and stop temperature operation

  • Flush the tank under full pressure

  • Inspect and clean out the gas drip-leg

  • Inspect and clean the burner assembly

  • Check for thermal expansion

  • Check for leakage (water and gas)

  • Calibrate operation (set proper temp. and gauge read)

  • Testing for carbon monoxide leakage

  • Inspect the flue vent for proper alignment, fitting, and flow

  • Check for current manufacturer service suggestions (updates)

BET YOU DIDN'T KNOW?

When water temperatures inside your tank reach 120 degrees and greater, a rapid separation of the minerals in the water may slowly build up at the bottom of the tank and other components, lowering the unit performance and life cycle; proper maintenance is required, and will solve these issues.
